At the turn of the century (that would be the 20th century, not the one a couple years ago), it was hard to find a home without porch swings, either on the front porch or around back. These were the social clubs of their day, allowing friends and family to pass the time away talking about politics, the home team and for the really bold, the opposite sex.

Today, the outdoor swing has made a comeback, in part because many planned communities have restored favor in the front porch as a way for neighbors to become, well, more neighborly.

We think this is a good thing, and not because we sell outdoor patio swing models. We like the return to the days when everyone knew their neighbor, back when the porch was indeed a gathering place to swap news, share an ice cold lemonade and watch the world pass by.
A garden swing is easy to install and enjoy. Once you have them anchored into a joist on the roof you can rest easy, knowing that you can swing to your heart’s content totally safe and sound, even if you have a swing filled with neighbors, family and friends.
